Which Frontier House Character Are You?

The Frontier House Families

Do you have what it takes to make it 1880s Montana? Are you addicted to real reality T.V. - PBS's Frontier House? Take this quiz and find out.

The modern-day activity/possession you would miss the most would be:
My favorite soda.

Movies.

My daily morning NPR fix.

Socializing.

My new home in Malibu. Oh, and my villa in Tuscany... most of all, the money I use to buy modern conveniences so I don't have to do any work with my hands.

Cooking gourmet cuisine for my spoiled family.

Your general attitude before the project started was:

I'm used to hardship, and I'm looking forward to proving myself on the frontier.

I really didn't do any thinking about the reality of frontier life before I jumped in with both feet.

I expected it to be hard, but maybe not this hard. It really bugs me when the others whine about it.

I thought it would be a great way to connect with my family and with nature.

Oh, I just thought it would be fun.

This is going to be an adventure. I hope I'm ready for it.

Your attitude towards your neighbors is:

I don't care how helpful he is. He needs to control his dog better.

I don't like the way they squabble. It's silly.

I would rather whine about my own problems than think about my neighbors.

I don't mind helping them when they need it, but I prefer to be self-sufficient so I don't need to ask them for help.

I think they need to be more self-reliant. And they need to keep their cow in their own damned corral.

I totally disapprove of the way they constantly bend the rules. If they can't hack life in the 1880s, they should just go home.

My neighbors (and the television audience) probably view me as:

Henpecked.

Whiny, self-serving, and naive.

Bitchy and domineering. But someone needs to be. And I think the fact that I worked hard and honestly counts for a lot.

Good-natured and likeable.

Helpful and self-sufficient. Kind and thoughtful.

Spoiled and lacking in foresight.

Would you have survived winter in 1880s Montana?

Yes. It would have been tough, but I would have come through.

No. I didn't realize what this would be like. I just thought it would be fun.

Yes. I proved that I'm self-sufficient enough.

No way. I barely survived summer.

Yes, probably. I was determined and hardworking, but there are some variables I might not have considered.

Yes. I didn't mind the hard work, and I did everything "authentically."
